What is a bad body image day?


What is it? Bad body image days are days (or longer) where you don't feel as confident in some aspect of your physical appearance.

Why do I still get them? Even when you've done the work to recover from dieting, bad body image days still happen and are normal. The desire to change our bodies is ingrained in us from a very young age, and it's not always a straight and narrow path to recovery. Unfortunately, even when you the work and ditch dieting much of the world isn't as up to date with body neutrality. We're still told our bodies are not good enough. You're not a bad person for having a bad body image day. What's more important, is how you handle them.

What should I do? ☑️ Breathe! Think and journal about what you like about your body and all that it's done for you. Making a list helps can be helpful to reference back to next time it happens. ☑️ Put on clothes that help you feel comfortable ☑️ Make a list of things that you have gained or will gain from ditching dieting. Remember, there is so much more to life than the way that you look! ☑️ Treat yo' self! Book a massage, get a haircut or get your nails done... whatever makes you feels pampered and special.
